WTF: Decisions

I have just a ton of anger right now and if I don't vent than I may explode.

This latest crap started 1/1/09. J's sil called me to say that she was at their house and K was drunk and possibly stoned. It was after 9 pm and the four kids were up. I said that I would be right there. I was almost to the house when my cell rang. It was the police they were at the house. I got there and cops everywhere. It seemed that sil and mil decided that J might come home and be angry so they called the police. Now, J has been a pot smoker for the last 25 years. As soon as our state voted to legalize pot he immediately bought some plants and start to grow them. He also filed for a medical marijuana card. This was limbo time, the law had not gone into effect yet. So the charges were running a drug house and child abuse, because the kids were living in the house. I took custody of the kids. 7,7,6 and 2. I kept them for three months while K went through drug rehab. I drove the three oldest back and forth to school, over a hundred miles a day. We paid $12,000. for a lawyer for the both of them. In October, they took a plea. To stay out of jail they plead to felony child abuse and running a drug house. K received 6 months probation and J received 4 years probation. The DHS had given them back custody in March and closed the case in Sept. In August they got into a fight and K called the police. Even though she didn't file a complaint they arrested him for domestic violence.

In October my husband was with them at court(I don't do court). They left the court, picked up the kids and drove to a C's house. He is a major grower and J helps him and gets his cut as product. He smoked a couple bowls and K had a few beers. Now in the mean time he has received his medicinal marijuana card. They were driving home and for some reason the police ran the license and it came back that K had a warrant for outstanding traffic violation. In the car were 4 kids, a dog and two plants. K called me, I was at my sisters visiting, so was very close by. My youngest daughter was here from SC visiting. The two of us went to where they had been pulled over. COPS everywhere, both J & K in handcuffs in separate cars. The kids freaking out. We took the kids back to my house, the parents went to jail. Since they had only been out of court 6 hours and were arrested, we choose not to bail them out. We have told them on several occasions that we were done giving them money. They managed to get friends and her family to bail them out, but the CPS had been contacted. They file a petition to have the children removed. The kids have been living with us since. We decided to go through getting a license for foster parenting because that would provide us with some extra money.

To be continued
